How much are your customers paying to order from you?
Hotplate has no subscription. Instead, under the default split, your customers pay 5% + $0.55 on top of every order subtotal. You never see it on a bill, so it's easy to think of Hotplate as free. Slide the numbers to match your bakery and see what it adds up to.
That's 125 orders a month at $40 each.
The arithmetic: 5% of $5,000 is $250.00, plus $0.55 on each of 125 orders is $68.75. That's $318.75 a month, or $3,825 a year. The same drops on Knead Growth, with recipes, capacity, and the books included, cost $780 a year. That's $3,045 less going to the platform.
Rates as published on hotplate.com/pricing, 2026-08-16: the customer pays 5% + $0.55 of the order subtotal under Hotplate's default split. On Knead the baker pays the Drops fee (3.5% on Free, 2.5% on Starter, 0.5% on Growth, on the subtotal, never on tax), with no per-order add-on. Card processing (Stripe, 2.9% + $0.30) is paid by the baker on both platforms, so it is left out. Knead plans billed monthly, times twelve. Your numbers will differ; that's what the sliders are for.
Why frame it this way
This isn't “what you'd save.” The fee lands on your customers, not you. But it's still money that changed hands because someone ordered from you, and it went to the platform instead of into your price. A percentage costs more as you grow. A flat price doesn't. Knead never takes a cut of regular sales, on any plan, at any volume. Drops is the one exception: 3.5% on Free, 2.5% on Starter, 0.5% on Growth, with no per-order add-on, all under Hotplate's 5% + $0.55.
